Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept new patients?
Yes, we are currently welcoming new patients of all ages. To book your first appointment, please call our clinic or use our online booking system. We’re excited to welcome you and your family to Wolf Willow Orchid Dental!
Can you bill my insurance directly?
Yes, we offer direct billing to most insurance providers. You will only need to cover any co-payment or remaining balance at the end of your appointment. If you have any questions about your specific insurance plan, please contact our team.
How often should I visit the dentist?
For most children and adults, we recommend a check-up and cleaning every six months. However, depending on your individual oral health needs (such as a history of gum disease or a high risk for cavities), we may suggest more frequent visits.
What are the signs of gum disease?
Early signs include red, swollen, or tender gums that may bleed during brushing or flossing. As it progresses, you might experience persistent bad breath, receding gums, pus between teeth, and loose teeth. Early intervention is key.
What is a cavity?
A cavity, or tooth decay, is a permanently damaged area in the hard surface of your tooth that develops into a tiny hole. It is caused by a combination of factors, including bacteria in your mouth, frequent snacking on sugary foods, and inadequate cleaning.
Why do I have bad breath (halitosis)?
While often linked to strong foods, persistent bad breath is usually caused by bacteria in the mouth, often on the tongue and between teeth. Gum disease, dry mouth, and cavities can also be contributors. Regular dental cleanings and good oral hygiene are the best defense.
I’m pregnant. Is it safe to go to the dentist?
Yes, it is not only safe but very important. Hormonal changes during pregnancy can increase your risk for gum disease, which can affect your baby’s health. Routine cleanings and check-ups are encouraged, though non-essential procedures are often postponed until after delivery.
